TeamTheatre is back with their first production for 2022. StarSweeper, written and performed by Mikaela Duffy, will have its debut release at the Frigid Festival in February 2022.

StarSweeper is a heartwarming and heart-breaking adventure experience where Sergeant Riley traverses lightyears over the course of a 5-year-solo mission. With sharp humor and deft storytelling, StarSweeper uses discussions of humanity and the beauty of existence to flash a new light of hope into the darkness of todays reality.

"In the macro- and microcosms of my life, Ive experienced a great deal of hardships and heavy-heartedness in the past few years, as Im sure many who read this will have as well. This year, however, I was also exposed to an outpouring of love and affection from friends and acquaintances so immense, it left me almost speechless. In the same turn, I was also reminded that the core value of humanity- helping those who cannot do anything in return- is ever present in our lives; not just a theoretical fallacy of goodwill. A quote that has inspired me my entire life was spoken by one of the greatest examples of humanity, Samwise Gamgee and it reads, There is some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And its worth fighting for. This show is dedicated to that exact ideal: that no matter what we run into, no matter how hard the path we tread, the love we have for our fellow man will succeed over all else. Rileys journey in this story is not just the adventure of one space explorer on a rescue mission like no other, but also the journey we all undertake experiencing life in an isolating society which often forgets that its greatest strength is its community." Mikaela Duffy shares.

Gwendolyn Snow, the director of this show, says,"Good writing is easy to direct, because all you have to do is help the actor share the story that it already tells so well. I am excited about directing this because I love the ideas behind the work, the themes and symbolism weaved throughout, so touching that I want to have a part in conveying this story to the stage."

Again, join TeamTheatre at the Frigid Festival for an intergalactic experience of hope this February and March in our production of StarSweeper.
