Out of work, out of money, and out of ideas, a gay writer entering his 60s finds himself the reluctant caretaker for two of his upstairs neighbors Shelley, a gregarious lesbian in her 80s with encroaching Alzheimers-related dementia, and Shadow, her longtime canine companion in the commissioned world premiere of Canadian playwright Brad Frasers hilarious and touching Shelleys Shadow, coming to Catskills Bridge Street Theatre for a two-weekend run September 8-18. Based on only slightly fictionalized events, the play charts the three characters attempts to navigate the ups and downs of Shelleys disease with wildly varying results some funny, some infuriating, some absolutely heartbreaking. Virtually unique in its depiction of older gay and lesbian lives, Shelleys Shadow will be presented Thursdays thru Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm on BSTs Priscilla Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street in the Village of Catskill, NY.
