Amid the isolating throes of a pandemic, what happens when two sisters who live together, find out that they may be dating the same guy?
Renata and Sandra move into a New York City apartment at the height of the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown. Coincidentally, their love lives are flourishing despite todays current dating challenges. Once they compare meet cutes, they start to realize that their stories have a little too much in common.
Duplicity is a romantic comedy about two sisters navigating their love lives amid the uncertainty of the pandemic. The story explores themes of sorority, trust and loyalty. This comedy modernizes the telenovela into a short light-hearted story that will make its audience laugh, gasp and clutch at your pearl adorned chests. Be prepared for a mountain of intrigue, an investigative thrall and boat loads of flaming hot sauce!
Duplicity is a story that highlights the relationships between family members who live together during the pandemic. Do they fight? Do they come together? Do they ever get sick of each other? The writer, Koy Carregha, focuses his writing on the ever changing dynamic of relationships in the middle of a crisis, using entertainment and humor.
The cast is made up of three talented actors: Regina Carregha, Sofia Carregha Lozano, and Alessandro Cavallo. Whats exciting about this film is that the sisters, Renata and Sandra, are played by Regina and Sofia who are also sisters in real life.
The film was produced by Soukaina Alaoui El Hassani and directed by Taha Aziz. The crew included the talented Anika Guttormson as the gaffer and Nicole Majewski as the sound operator.
Duplicity will have two private screenings for friends and family, produced by TeamTheatre LLC on May 1st, 2021. The private screenings will include an interview with everyone involved in the process of the film.
The first will take place in English at 5:30pm EDT hosted by the Australian born, Brooklyn-based actor and creative artist Magde and the second one will be in Spanish at 7:00pm EDT hosted by Carolina Carregha Lozano and translated by Aurora Lozano de Carregha. As you may see the whole family is involved!! The Carregha family wanted to broaden their audience, to their own Paisainos who speak Spanish. Since they always have felt supported by them, they wanted to bring them into the journey of the work theyve been making.
Get your tickets and dont miss out on this bilingual comedy and the series of interviews about the writer, cast and crew who brought this work to reality!
