TADA Announces Youth Ensemble Auditions

The Drama Desk award-winning TADA! Youth Theater is holding auditions for the Resident Youth Ensemble Program for kids ages 8-18. Auditions will be held on five different days; October 5th for High School students, October 14th for Middle School students, October 15th for Elementary School students, October 19th, 21st and 22nd are open to all. TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble is a FREE pre-professional musical theater and youth development program. This unique multi-ethnic community of performers comes from all five NYC boroughs as well as New Jersey, Westchester, and Long Island.

TADA! produces completely original works by award-winning composers. These works are then performed by TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble under the professional guidance of staff who are all working professionals. Roughly 5% of kids that audition are accepted into TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble program every year. 59% of the ensemble is female and 41% is male. 65% of ensemble families are at or below Self-Sufficiency Standard for NYC. On top of improving musical theater skills and talent, TADA! builds confidence and develops responsibility, communication, creativity plus sets kids up for success onstage and in life!

Love to sing, dance, and act? Come and join the community of young performers in this unique ensemble. Resident Youth Ensemble members have the opportunity to perform in TADA!'s three original main stage musicals each year. In addition to performing onsite, ensemble members perform at high profiled events around the city; receive free singing, dancing, and acting training, free snacks, middle school/high school/college prep, mentoring, social activities, job RAP (Readiness Apprenticeship Program), and travel subsidies. Alumni include: Jordan Peele (Emmy Winner known for Key & Peele; Keanu Mad TV), Josh Peck (Grandfathered; Drake & Josh), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Mizuo Peck (Night At The Museumseries), Christina Vidal (Code Black, Freaky Friday, limitless), Ricki Lake (The Ricki Lake Show), Ricardo Zayas (Hamilton on Broadway, Dance Theater of Harlem, San Francisco Ballet), AJR Brothers ( Indie pop band), and more.

Since 1984, TADA!'s mission is to provide young people from all different backgrounds with musical theater programs that inspire them to be creative, learn, and think differently. TADA! is a unique Drama Desk award-winning nonprofit youth theater that produces original musicals for children, teens, and family audiences. TADA! offers a free, year-round, pre-professional training & youth development program through the Resident Youth Ensemble (ages 8-18); musical theater classes/camps for the public; as well as musical theater residencies in NYC schools and community centers.
