Second Annual Little York Fall Fiber Arts Festival Planned for October 12 & 13

Are you a knitter, weaver or crafter...or want to become one? Are you interested in learning about the timeless art of spinning wool into yarn? Are you searching for that perfect unique holiday gift? Then, come one, come all to the second annual Little York Fall Fiber Arts Festival, to be held on October 12 and 13. This fine arts and crafts festival will be held at the Little York Pavilion in Dwyer Memorial Park at 6799 Little York Lake Road in Preble. It will be hosted by the Board and Guild of Cortland Repertory Theatre with proceeds benefiting the theater's seasonal expenses as well as their capital campaign for the new "CRT Downtown" facility.

The festival hours are 9:00 - 5:00 on Saturday, October 12 and 11:00 - 3:00 on Sunday, October 13. Over 30 vendors will be attending, coming from across New York State, as well as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island. A variety of fiber products will be for sale, including yarn and knitting supplies, raw wool and roving for spinning, felting supplies and crafts, unique jewelry and pins, seasonal art, and handmade knitted items including mittens, scarves, socks, hats and shawls. Also available will be unique gift ideas such as lamps and candle holders made from bobbins used in New England textile mills. Additional vendors will have all-natural products including maple products, soaps, and herbal salves. Some vendors may also have their fiber animals on display including fine-wool sheep, angora rabbits, llamas and alpacas.

There is a $5.00 entrance fee. Youth 12 years and under will be admitted free of charge. The CRT Guild will have a refreshment counter available with snacks, coffee and warm beverages as well as light lunch offerings.

Individuals attending should be aware that many vendors only accept cash or checks (not credit cards) and there is not an ATM on site.
