This is the last weekend of performance of THE TEMPEST, by William Shakespeare, the current production of The Shakespeare Players program of the Rochester Community Players, and due to popular demand they have added an extra show on November 11th.
Remaining shows are as follows: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 8, 9 & 10th at 8:00 pm; Sunday November 11 at 2:00 (Extra Show; see below under "tickets in advance")
This will be a special presentation of this play, in "Steampunk" style. What is Steampunk? According to Wikipedia, "Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction characterized by a setting in which steam power predominates as the energy source for industrial technologies, inspired by industrial civilization during the 19th century." Want to know more? Ask someone under 30! Then bring them to the show!
The performances are at MuCCC Theater, 142 Atlantic Avenue (three blocks east of University Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, at the corner of Atlantic Ave. and Fairmount St.)
Tickets may be purchased in advanced thru the MuCCC website or by calling OvationTix at 866-811-4111 (surcharge applies to online and phone orders.) Tickets are priced at $19 for General Admission, $14 for Seniors (anyone over age 65), and $9 for Juniors (anyone under age 25.) Due to popular demand, advance reservations are strongly encouraged, especially for the Friday and Saturday shows. We have added a performance on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 pm to accommodate the ticket demand. We also encourage attendance at the Thursday night, Nov. 8 performance, as likely to have the best seating. There are no reserve seats, but once advance ticket reservations fill the available seating, ticket sales at the door will be limited to available seating once all advance sale tickets are seated.
The box office opens at 7:00 pm before the shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 2:00 pm on Sunday. Advance sale tickets are by online or phone only. The house will open for seating one-half hour before show time.
