The Red House Arts Center in Syracuse, NY opens its Main Stage Season with the adult, puppet-filled musical Avenue Q September 15th - October 1st. Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart.

This humorously irreverent musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment in search of his life's purpose. On his quest, he befriends the zany inhabitants of Avenue Q and, together, the group of misfits muddle through the trials and tribulations of adult life. Featuring a delightfully catchy score, the puppets - and humans - of Avenue Q sing their way through lay-offs, heartbreak, one-night stands, and more!

The Red House Arts Center's Avenue Q boasts a cast of professional and local actors featuring Carmen Viviano Crafts (Ragtime), Kathleen Egloff (Ragtime), LaRon Grant (Disney's The Little Mermaid), John Grimsley (Disney's The Little Mermaid), Ben Sheedy (Passion Play), Benjamin Wells (Big Fish), and Colin Wilson (Passion Play). Joining the cast from New York City are Briana Maia (Dreamgirls, Ragtime) and Junko Yasuda (Medea) with Andrew Behling (Redhouse debut) from Chicago.

Avenue Q is directed by Kate Sullivan Gibbens, co-writer of Broadway's "8 the Play," with musical direction by Jacob Carll, choreography by Stephfond Brunson, set design by Tim Brown, costume design by Christopher Simanton, lighting design by Chi Chuan, and sound design by Anthony Vadala. Rounding out the production team are Gregory Maddock, assistant director; Patrick Burns, music supervisor; Sarah Nolen and Elise Schuford, puppetry consultants; Joshua Reid, production manager; and Jessica Bush, stage manager.

Redhouse's Avenue Q runs from September 15th through October 1st. Tickets are $30 or $25 for members. The Red House Arts Center is located at 201 S. West St. in Syracuse, NY. Parking is available adjacent to and across from the theater, as well as nearby in Armory Square. For tickets and information, call the Box Office at (315) 362-2785 or visit www.theredhouse.org.
