Redhouse Arts Center will kick off its season with The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Beane which runs from September 7 to 24, 2017. Starring Instagram sensation Max
Emerson (@maxisms) and Redhouse Founding Artistic Director Laura Austin, this play is the perfect start to Redhouse's final season in its current home. The Little Dog Laughed is a nail biting, timely comedy, that takes aim at the entertainment industry and the way happy
endings "should" look. (*This production contains nudity and is not appropriate for children or young audiences.* )
In Hollywood, a family starts as the union between a man, a woman, and a very clever publicist. Mitchell, an impossibly handsome movie actor on the brink of super stardom, is trying to come out of the closet, while Diane, his impossibly ballsy agent, is trying to keep him in. Everything is going according to her plan until a wildly appealing rent boy and his acerbic girlfriend enter the picture with hysterical consequences. Don't miss this Tony Award-winning comedy by the diabolically funny wordsmith Douglas Carter Beane - you'll still be laughing as the final credits roll! WARNING: This play contains nudity, adult situations, and sharp satire!
Also making his Redhouse debut is Conor Donnally who will play the role of Alex. Conor currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and recently starred in his first feature film, "Hooked", in the role of Jack. Connecticut Repertory Theatre credits include: Cloud 9 (Betty/Edward), Punk Rock (William Carlisle), Gypsy (Pastey), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Puck), Sunshine Boys (Boom Mic.
