On Sunday, January 28th at 7:00 PM singer, songwriter, drummer, percussionist and founder of '70s Atlantic Starr, Porter Carroll, Jr. - a native of Greenburgh, NY, and a graduate of Woodlands High School - will be the Special Guest at Lagond's Adult Funk/Soul Jam. Hosted by Charlie Lagond, the jam sessions take place Sunday nights at The Haven, located at 9 Haven Street in Elmsford. This is a FREE event!

Porter Carroll, Jr. is a founding member of Atlantic Starr. His solo career includes songwriting for the Temptations, Luther Vandross, Grover Washington, and Taj Mahal; composing for television and movies; and singing background for Michael Bolton, Howard Hewitt, Donny Osmond, Spyro Gyra. Currently percussionist/vocalist for Hall & Oates and regular on Daryl Hall's, Live from Daryl's House TV show.
This weekend's Adult Funk/Soul Jam also features Paul Maddison on guitar, James Brough on keys, David Livolsi on bass and Erik Perez on drums.
Lagond Music School extends its reach beyond its student body and into the local music community by providing weekly adult jam nights and a place for musicians to congregate. Each week the Adult Jam spotlights a different genre and well-known guest musicians. Anyone with a desire to play, 18+, can join the jam on stage and sit in with peers as well as have an opportunity to meet and play with professional musicians. Spectators are welcome. Since its founding in 2002, Lagond has become one of the nation's most successful college preparatory programs for music in the entire country, offering students the training, guidance and rigorous instruction needed to prepare them for their college studies and for rewarding careers in music and entertainment.
