It is said that "golf and sex are the only things you can enjoy without being good at them." With that in mind, CRT invites all to come join the "teed off" gang down at the Quail Valley Country Club as they prepare to take on their archrivals, the Crouching Squirrels, in the Annual Inter-Club Golf Tournament. With a sizable wager at stake, the contest plays out amidst romantic shenanigans, mistaken identities, a disappearing diamond, objectionable sweaters, and an exploding vase. This hysterical, fast-paced comedy is a charming madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair...with golf!
The Fox on the Fairway is directed by Bert Bernardi, who has been with CRT for many seasons having most recently directed Always a Bridesmaid and The Addams Family last summer. His other directorial productions include All Shook Up, Grease, The Great American Trailer Park Musical and The Mystery of Irma Vep, among many others.
The cast is comprised of returning CRT actors and new faces to the CRT stage. Michael Schaefer, best known for his performances in The Ladies Man, See How They Run and Moonlight and Magnolias, plays Henry Bingham, a frazzled and high-betting country club member. Playing his wife Muriel is local actress Nancy Kane, who has appeared in CRT's productions of Grease,Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced and Spider's Web. Also a CRT returnee is Justin Klose, who plays Dickie Bell, a member of the rival club. Klose was seen in The Ladies Man, Unnecessary Farce and Spider's Web. Tayler Beth Anderson playing the pretty and excitable Louise Heindbedder, was previously seen in CRT's Boeing Boeing. Making their CRT debuts are Dan Wilt as awkward but loving Justin Hicks, and Charlie Jhaye as the impeccable and beautiful Pamela Peabody.
Stage Manager Emily Hankins, in her CRT debut, leads a talented production team including Scenic Designer and SUNY Oswego designer Ola Kraszpulska. Costume Designer Jimmy Johansmeyer returns for his thirteenth year at CRT and Sound Designer Seth Asa Sengel is in his fifth CRT year. CRT Production Manager Eric Behnke also serves as Lighting Designer and Props Designer Joe Dotts returns after having served as Props Artisan last summer. Assistant Stage Manager Julianne Graffeo is in her first year at CRT while Dana White Jr. returns for his second year as CRT Technical Director.
CRT will continue the tradition of "Friday Night Talk Backs" at which a Q & A session with the actors, designers and crew takes place after Friday evening performances. Tickets are also on sale for all of CRT's summer season, which includes West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Agatha Christie's Cards on the Table, The Kitchen Witches, The Marvelous Wonderettes and the children's show Pinocchio.
