Tonight, March 21, 2015 from 8pm-midnight, Kitchen Theatre Company will host its 5th Annual Dance the Night Away party to celebrate its 24th season. Dance the Night Away is an evening of dancing to live music Little Joe and the Big Shots, great food and delicious drinks. And, when the band takes a break - performances by "celebrity dancers" delight party-goers.
This year's celebrity dancers include Matt Carcella, Denny Grout, Mark Kenjerska, Susan Lustick, Joel Malina, Rebecca Schwed, Jennifer Tavares, Anneke van Renesse, and Robbert van Renesse. Also dancing are Kitchen staff and board members Rachel Lampert, Stephen Nunley, Lesley Greene, Emily Jackson, Jamie Morrisey, and Susan Tudor Johnston. Choreographers Rachel Lampert, Tucker Davis, and Lesley Greene have been putting the dancers through their paces.
Dance the Night Away is Kitchen Theatre Company's most important fund raising event of the season. Many thanks to corporate lead sponsor CFCU Community Federal Credit Union and business and individual sponsors Cayuga Medical Center, Cornell University Hospital for Animals, CSP Management, King Ferry Winery, Susan Lustick, Assoc. Broker at Linz Real Estate, Dianne & Jim Orcutt, Bacchus Brewery Inc., Ithaca Veterinary Housecalls, NYSEG, and Will Musham singer/songwriter.
Each celebrity dancer seeks sponsorship support from friends and family and the celebrity dancer who raises the most support wins a "stay-cation" in Ithaca, complete with overnight stay and spa gift card at La Tourelle and tickets to performances at the Hangar Theatre and Kitchen Theatre Company. Tickets are on sale for $100 ($50 is tax-deductible) at kitchentheatre.org or at (607) 272-0570.
