Don't miss the most entertaining fundraiser this year! Watch as local personalities and Hangar stars compete in an epic battle of charades at the Hangar's annual benefit Acting Out on the Hangar Stage. This light-hearted FUNdraiser will be an evening full of improvised, live entertainment, as team members act out entertainment clues for all to enjoy. See the charades show down yourself Saturday, October 18 at 6:30pm at the Hangar Theatre. Event attendees will enjoy this spectacle, a live auction of theatrical experiences, as well as complementary snacks, wine, and beer throughout the evening.

The Hangar Theatre has recruited popular local personalities and Hangar stars from their 40th season to partake in the event. The four teams will compete on the Hangar stage in both a battle of charades and fundraising efforts for the theatre. This year the teams are more competitive than ever, with returning players from years past and enthusiastic new participants, this is sure to be the best charades battle yet!

The roster of team players is as follows:

Remarkable Reds: Jamie Wells (Hangar Trustee), Kelly Jackson (Officer & Customer Care Center Manager for Tompkins Trust Company), Rik Daniels (Voted Ithaca's Best Bank Teller), and Bruce Warren (Dentist in the Hangar's Little Shop of Horrors).

Wondrous Worlds: Shelley Semmler (Hangar Trustee), Mike D'Angelo (Vice President of Member Experience, CFCU Community Credit Union), Kat Walters (Host of I-100, Classic Rock), and Michael Di Liberto (Detective Fix in the Hangar's Around the World in 80 Days).

Hellacious Horrors: Arno Selco (Hangar Trustee), Frost Travis (President, Travis Hyde Properties), Susan Currie (Director, Tompkins County Public Library), and Jennifer Theriot (Crystal in the Hangar's Little Shop of Horrors).

Dynamic Deserts: Ann Costello (Hangar Trustee), John Rudd (President & CEO, Cayuga Medical Center), Brett Bossard (President, Ithaca Rotary & Executive Director, Cinemapolis), and Isabel Satntiago (Audrey in the Hangar's Little Shop of Horrors).

The master of ceremonies for the evening will be Mark Shanahan, who made his acting and directing debut on the Hangar stage this past summer, playing the mysterious Philieas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days and directing the heart wrenching Other Desert Cities. Artistic Director, Jen Waldman, will be directing a half - time show for the evening that is to be performed by recent Hangar alumni. Local favorite and event sponsor Serendipity Catering will provide delicious snacks and desserts.

Team members are currently seeking donations to help give them a competitive advantage the night of the competition. Teams will be acknowledged at the end of the night for their performance on the stage and their fundraising efforts for the Hangar. While this battle of charades is sure to be hilarious fun for all, the real winner of the night is the Hangar's education programs which will greatly benefit from this event. Last year, the event raised nearly $10,000 for Hangar education programs.

Tickets are $50 and include complimentary drinks and light fare, the charades challenge match, and a half-time show directed by Artistic Director, Jen Waldman. $35 of each ticket is a tax-deductible donation. Suggested dress code is fun and festive - feel free to dress to support your favorite team.
