HUDSON STAGE announces the cast of its world premiere of the riveting and provocative new play by Joshua Allen, THE OCTOBER STORM.
Heading the cast is Obie winning actress Yvette Ganier who is currently in the NBC series NEW AMSTERDAM, and has been seen on Broadway in KING HEDLEY ll, in London in JITNEY, and was a longtime collaborator with August Wilson. Ryan George has played the title role in OTHELLO in NYC and was most recently seen in MIDWIVES at the George Street Playhouse. Trevor Latez Hayes is a graduate of NYU Tisch and has been seen Off-Broadway with the Atlantic Theatre Company in LAST STOP ON MARKET STREET, and on TV in THE DEUCE. Elizabeth Van Dyke is a director as well as an actress, and received the Audelco Award for her portrayal of Zora in Zora Neale Hurston. She has been seen in many shows at the Ensemble Studio Theatre and the National Black Theatre. Shay Vawn, a graduate of NYU's MFA acting program, most recently appeared in FOR ALL THE WOMEN WHO THOUGHT THEY WERE MAD at Soho Rep, and has appeared at the McCarter and Old Globe Theatres, she can be seen BLUE BLOODS and DEVS.
From the Emmy winning writer/producer of TV's EMPIRE, comes this drama set in 1960's Southside Chicago, where a troubled war veteran moves into an apartment building and the residents become caught in an emotional whirlwind that threatens to change their lives forever. In the center of the conflict are and the building's landlady, Mrs. Elkins and her granddaughter, Gloria.
