Next up this summer at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival (FLMTF) is Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn. The show runs August 1 through August 22 at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Emerson Park.
Based on the classic film, this joyous song and dance musical features show-stopping dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy and a parade of hit Irving Berlin songs including "Blue Skies," "Easter Parade," "Steppin' Out With My Baby," "Heat Wave," "Cheek to Cheek," "Shaking the Blues Away" and many more! Come sing and dance with us as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary with this happy go lucky, toe tapping hit. And bring the entire family!
Holiday Inn is directed and choreographed by Richard J. Hinds (Broadway: Come From Away, Newsies, Jekyll and Hyde, Il Divo: A Musical Affair) with Elizabeth Picini (Regional: Singin' In the Rain at the Muny) as Associate Choreographer, Corrine Aquilina (Broadway: The Boys from Oz, Annie, Five Guys Named Moe, The Great American Trailer Park Musical) as Music Director, and Jeff Cox (NYC: The Band's Visit) as Assistant Musical Director. Holiday Inn will feature scenic design by Shoko Kambara (World Premiere of The Prince of Players at Houston Grand Opera), lighting design by Jose Santiago (MGR: Mamma Mia!, Parade, Always... Patsy Cline, Smokey Joe's Café), sound design by Ed Chapman (Broadway: Travisties), costume design by Tiffany Howard (MGR: Mamma Mia!, Guys and Dolls, Parade, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Crazy for You), and wig design by Alfonso Annotto (Broadway: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Putting it Together).
HOLIDAY INN Cast
Ben Mayne (Off Broadway: The View UpStairs, Edwin) makes his festival debut as Jim Hardy, with Benjamin Mapp (International tour: Riverdance, Fame) as Ted Hanover. Julie Kavanagh (National tour: La Cage Aux Folles) returns to the festival as Lila Dixon, with Jennifer Evans (Broadway: Ragtime, A Tale of Two Cities) also making a return to FLMTF as Linda Mason. Kate Chapman (Broadway: Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, The Pajama Game, Sweet Smell of Success, Saturday Night Fever) will be playing the role of Louise, with Jacob Mills (National tour: The Sound of Music, Annie) as Danny and Brock Calabrese as Charlie.
The ensemble will feature: Kelly Berman, Kaitie Buckert, Aaron Burr, Christopher Campbell, Erik Joshua Clack, Taylor Fields, Andy Garcia, Crawford Horton, Hannah Jewel Kohn, Elise Kowalick, Megan McLaughlin, Michael Persson, Ariel Prochilo, Julio Rey, Claire Sorlie, and Richard Westfahl.
