Grammy-Winning Jazz Bassist John Patitucci To Perform At Hoff-Barthelson Music  Image

Hoff-Barthelson Music School's Annual Benefit Concert, the School's largest fundraising event of the year taking place on Sunday March 31, 2019, will feature 2019 Grammy award winner John Patitucci and his Jazz Trio. The concert will include special appearances by advanced HBMS jazz and chamber music students. The event will be held in the main sanctuary of the Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale.

The event will honor longstanding HBMS board member and Morgan Stanley executive, Dorothy Lee Han. Funds raised enable Hoff-Barthelson to offer a world-class music education to students of all ages, aptitudes and levels of advancement, while ensuring that programs are accessible to a broad community of students.

John has been at the forefront of the jazz world for the last 30+ years and active in all styles of music. He is a three-time Grammy award winner, has been nominated over fourteen times and has played on many other Grammy award-winning recordings. He has performed and/or recorded with jazz giants including Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Stan Getz, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Haynes, Wynton Marsalis, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garrett, Victor Feldman, Nancy Wilson and countless others. John has also performed and or recorded with pop artists such as Natalie Cole, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Joni Mitchell, Bono, Sting, James Taylor and Paul Simon. He has been active as a composer with fourteen solo recordings of his own and has been commissioned to write for various chamber music groups.

HBMS Board member since 2001, serving as Chair from 2008 to 2011. She currently serves on the Executive, Development and Finance Committees and is Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. An accomplished executive, Dotti serves as Managing Director in Global Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley leading a team of rating agency specialists. Earlier in her career, Dotti earned a Ph.D in Experimental Pathology and a B.S. in Biology from SUNY at Stony Brook. Outside of HBMS, Dotti volunteers extensively at Greenville Community Church, Scarsdale, NY, where she is Treasurer and Elder on the Consistory, and supports numerous arts, education, and social organizations in New York City and surrounding regions.
