The Emelin Theatre announces the following upcoming events:

Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike | $38 | BLUEGRASS

Feb 17, 2012 @ 8 pm

Described as " one of bluegrass music's most energetic, powerful and personable performers, Valerie Smith and her excellent band, featuring fiddler and songwriter Becky Buller, return to the Emelin for the first time since 2001. There's an old-time feel to Valerie's music that belies her ability to find exceptional songs by today's best writers. Her vocal duets with Becky can be wistful, emotional, funny, and, often, hair-raising."

Galumpha | $18 adults; $13 children | FAMILY

Feb 18, 2012 @ 11 am & 1:30 pm

Described as "combining stunning acrobatics, striking visual effects, physical comedy and inventive choreography, Galumpha brings to life a world of imagination, beauty and merriment. In appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Jerry Lewis's Legendary MDA Telethon, A&E, Showtime, and MTV and in their live performances, they create a sensory feast of images ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime, drawn together into a seamless whole, consistently bringing audiences to their feet. Ages 4+"

BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet | $39 | GREAT TRADITIONS

Feb 19, 2012 @ 8 pm

Described as "from The Grand Ole Opry to Newport Folk, from concert hall to dance floor, the Grammy-winning music of BeauSoleil has captivated audiences the world over, blending traditional Cajun with elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country and blues. In 2005, founder Michael Doucet was awarded a National Heritage Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts."
