Cortland Repertory Theatre will hold auditions, by appointment, for its upcoming 39th annual summer season. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 27 from 10:00 - 4:00 at Homer High School, 80 South West Street (Route 281), Exit 12 off Route 81 in Homer. Productions include:
· "Spider's Web": an
Agatha Christie mystery;
· "See How They Run" a British farce;
· "The Pajama Game", a musical comedy;
· "Brigadoon" a musical based in Scotland;
· "Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks", a comedy;
· "The Andrews Brothers" a 1-woman, 3-men musical comedy featuring the music of the Andrews Sisters.
All roles open. Primarily seeking adults (high school student age and above). Paid performing internships are available for college students. Interns must sing and dance.
Parts are available for boys and girls who sing, ages 8 - 18 in "Brigadoon".
Also, we are seeking a young lady, age 12 - 15, who acts (no singing or dancing required) for
Agatha Christie's "Spider's Web". She must be a confident, strong actress, and able to speak with a RP (i.e. "proper") British accent. Think Hermione in the "Harry Potter" movies. This is a significant role in the play and requires comedic skills and "crying". Note that rehearsals for "Spider's Web" will be held after school from May 26 - June 9; performances will run June 9 - 19, with matinee performances on Friday June 11 and Wednesday, June 16 which may overlap the school day.
If cast, all actors must be available for daytime rehearsals in Cortland. Season runs from May 26 - Sept 11.
· Seeking non-union actors only.
· Please bring a current photo and theatrical resume.
· Prepare one 1 - 2 minute monologue to be considered for the plays. British accent required.
· Prepare 16 measures of an uptempo and/or ballad to be considered for the musicals.
