The Cortland Repertory Theatre Youth Program offers performances of a new adaptation of the classic children's story "The Velveteen Rabbit" for all ages. This production is adapted and directed by Mark Reynolds, based on Margery Williams classic story. Performances are offered on Saturday, July 15, at 10:00 and noon. The performance on Friday, July 21st is sold out. General Admission tickets are $7.00 per person and may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org. CRT cautions on-line ticket purchasers to be sure to order tickets through the Cortland Rep website using the online program ETix, and NOT through numerous scalping websites that sell tickets for a considerably higher price. Those sites are NOT connected to CRT in any way.

In the imaginative world of toys, life begins when humans leave the room! When one group of toys discovers a velveteen rabbit, they learn what it means to be truly loved by their owner. This unique "toy story" tells the "tail" of the unconditional love between a child and his toy bunny. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed toy to the performance with which to enjoy the performance. While aimed for young audience members in the Kindergarten thru 5th grade age range, our children's' theatre productions are great fun for the whole family, from 5 - 105 years old!

The cast of "The Velveteen Rabbit" is comprised of six CRT performing interns, including McKena Silva as The Velveteen Rabbit, Grant Paylor as The Boy, Claire Sorlie as the Skin Horse, Michael Dikegoros as the Model Boat, Aaron Jacobs as Timothy the Tin Soldier and Caite Marlowe as Nana. Christina Miller serves as Stage Manager for this production with the Scenci Design created by Scott Holdredge, Jimmy Johansmeyer serves as Costume Designer and CRT Master Electrician Mary Lana Rice creating the lighting design. Other technical work is provided by Terry Baker as Props Designer, Seth Asa Sengel as Sound Designer, and Dana White Jr. as Technical Director.
