Where can two sisters just on the other side of fifty go to add a little zest to their lives? BINGO! On any regular bingo night at St. Joseph's, you can find Father Mac, Cindy Conklin, Marge Meranski, and the many colorful regulars we meet through the eyes of Sis and Babe. They are sisters and best friends who love the game: Sis is a good loser who just loves to play, while Babe is a player who has always got to win. They complement each other - and drive each other crazy - in ways only sisters can. They dish the dirt, dig up memories, giggle like school girls, and share their insecurities in this funny and heartwarming evening. A jackpot of a show, this comedy even includes a bingo game with the audience!
The Queen of Bingo is directed by Bill Kincaid, who has been with CRT for many seasons having most recently directed last spring's I Am My Own Wife and summer productions of Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, Chicago, The Drawer Boy, and many others. The cast is comprised of returning CRT actors, and by special permission of the authors, the roles of the sisters will be played by men. Playing Babe is NYC actor Jason Sofge, who has previously been seen CRT's productions of 1776 and The Full Monty. Chris Nickerson will play the older sister Sis, having previously been seen in last fall's The Birds and The Receptionist, and also during the CRT's summer seasons in Spider's Web, Johnny Guitar and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. A frequent actor and director in the Binghamton area, Tim Mollen will play Father Mac; Mollen also appeared in CRT's productions of Ten Little Indians and Brigadoon.
Stage Manager Eric Behnke wears many hats, serving as Lighting Designer, Scenic Designer and Technical Director. He is assisted on properties by his wife, Kris; local artist Beth Gailor serves as Scenic Charge Artist. Costume Designer Mark Reynolds returns to CRT Downtown, having previously costumed I Am My Own Wife, The Birds and The Receptionist at CRT Downtown, and A Chorus Line and Miracle on South Division Street during the summer seasons. Seth Asa Sengel also returns as Sound Designer, having worked at CRT both during the summer and winter seasons for the past six seasons.
CRT wishes to inform that the performances planned for March 29 and 30 and April 5 and 6 have been cancelled. Visit www.cortlandrep.org for more information about any of the upcoming shows.
