Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown invites audiences to re-live that "Rocky Mountain High" as they present international musician, singer and songwriter Ted Vigil in his TRIBUTE TO John Denver. Three performances of this talented performer are offered: Friday, October 26 at 7:30, and Saturday, October 27 at 2:00 and 7:30. At this time, the Friday night performance is sold out, but seats are still available for both Saturday shows. The concerts will be held at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland.
Born and raised in Washington state, Vigil is a singer, songwriter and John Denver lookalike who began performing at the age of ten. In 2006, he won first place in the Nevada Talent Quest, winning over artists from 28 states and New Zealand, Australia and Canada. After developing his John Denver tribute, he has since performed for Denver's Windstar Foundation in Aspen, Colorado, and was awarded the Rising Legend Award by the National Traditional Country Music Association. Ted also performed with the late Steve Wiesberg, John Denver's lead guitar player from 2010 to 2014 who is quoted as saying "Apparently the audience thinks they (other Denver lookalike singers) all look and sound like John. I don't see it. I see it with Ted. A very strong physical resemblance... Uncanny!" Recently, Ted toured Australia with other tribute artists of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Audiences are astounded with his resemblance to Denver, and love his tribute to this iconic singer. Visit TedVigil.com for video clips of this incredible performer, but there's nothing like seeing him live!
