Katherine escaped from her small Texas home and her hypochondriac mother 9 years ago. When she finally steps back into her childhood home, Katherine is immediately overwhelmed by the familiar. Every room seems to have a story. Every corner of the house holds another recollection. Katherine's memories become so vivid, in fact, they appear to come alive before her eyes. Both humorous and heartbreaking, HOME explores parenting and childhood with unflinching honesty, questioning what it means to grow older, and whether we truly have the capacity to grow up.
HOME stars Leenya Rideout (War Horse, Cyrano de Bergerac, Company, Cabaret), Nancy Slusser (Louie), Alison Cusano (A Night with Janice Joplin), and Sydney Shuck (Annie National Tour).
The design team is: Shane Cinal (Set), Chelsie McPhilimy (Lights), Patrick MacDonald (Sound), Rebekah Priebe (Costumes).
ATF's Producing Artistic Director, Chad Rabinovitz, directs. Chad has directed more than 100 plays and musicals across the country, focusing entirely on new and contemporary work. Specializing in developing new works, Rabinovitz has fostered and directed premieres from such prominent playwrights as: Dan Castellaneta, Deb Lacusta, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Daniels, Craig Wright, Greg Kotis, Paris Barclay, Drew Gasparini, Alex Brightman, Michelle Kholos Brooks, Kelly Younger, Jon Marans, Israel Horovitz, Jeremy Schonfeld, Wendy MacLeod, Michael Healey, Nicole Parker, Chris Jeffries, Henry Murray, Carner & Gregor, and William Missouri Downs. Rabinovitz is also known for working closely with magicians to direct and develop their acts, working most prominently with "Washington D.C.'s 2013 Best Performing Artist," Max Major. He has been the Producing Artistic Director of the Bloomington Playwrights Project for the past 6 years where he led what Bloom Magazine called, "a near miraculous renaissance". Through the quality of new works he produced, Chad managed to erase the company's nearly six-figure deficit, quintuple its subscribership, expand its education program, complete a full-building renovation, double the operating budget, and produce an entirely sold-out season of new works. In his first year of leadership at ATF, the company increased its attendance by nearly 45%, breaking box-office records.
