Adirondack Theatre Festival (ATF) announces its 23rd season - the third for Producing Artistic Director, Chad Rabinovitz. Rabinovitz will again bring an entire season of major new works to ATF with a team of top-level professional artists, offering experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in the world - only in Glens Falls.

After a record-breaking season of sold-out performances last year, nearly doubling attendance and subscribership in just the past two years, the 2017 season promises to be even larger.

Performances will run June 21 - August 12 at the Charles R. Wood Theater, 207 Glen Street, in Downtown Glens Falls, NY.

With ATF's popular Subscription Package, season subscribers can use their tickets for any show, any time. Subscribers can use one ticket for each performance or all tickets for one performance. Ticket reservations can be changed to any performance without any exchange fees. If a subscriber is out of town for a performance, they can see another show twice or give their ticket to a friend. Subscribers also have the opportunity to reserve their favorite seats first before single tickets go on sale on April 1.

Early Bird Prices (before April 1): 3 pass - $90 (save $45 off single tickets); 5 pass - $120 (save $105); 7 pass - $145 (save $170). After April 1 all prices go up $5. Packages and tickets to individual shows may be purchased by calling (518) 480-4878 or visiting the Wood Theater Box Office.

Last year's subscribers who choose to renew will get the gift of a FREE additional subscription to give to any friend who was not a subscriber to the previous season. ATF is the only theatre in the WORLD offering this innovative initiative that celebrates the loyalty of its core supporters.

If a subscriber from last year purchases a 5 Pass then they will receive an additional 5 Pass to gift to a friend. If they purchase a 7 Pass, they'll get a 7 Pass. Next season, both the Subscriber and the Subscribe It Forward recipient will have the opportunity to renew and Subscribe It Forward again. Now ATF's loyal patrons can bring a new friend with them for an entire summer. It's also a great reason to subscribe for the first time, since next year you'll be able to Subscribe It Forward!

The 2016 season set a lot of records for ATF:

- 9,143 - most patrons in a season (5,798 in 2014, 8,385 in 2015)

- 1,057 Subscribers - most in ATF history (591 in 2014, 895 in 2015)

- PB&J Café - sold out the entire run

- A COMEDY OF MANORS - best-selling non-musical in ATF history (2nd overall)

2017 SUMMER MAINSTAGE SHOWS:

ELECTRIFYING MUSICAL

NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT

By Nikko Benson & Benjamin Halstead

Directed by Marshall Pailet

June 21 - July 1

A misunderstood genius. A rivalry for the ages. An idea that would change the world forever. Turning the volume up on one of our time's most influential (and controversial) innovators, Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat is a theatrical experience unlike anything you've ever seen. A show that can only be described as "HAMILTON meets TESLA", this epic battle of Nikola Tesla vs. Thomas Edison is set to the rhythm of a brand-new beat, in a modern and mesmerizing musical that will leave you speechless... and electrified.

Nikko Benson recently won the prestigious Jonathan Larson prize for TESLA, which has never been produced.

A cast of between 11-12, this is the largest show in ATF history.

"This is hands-down the most exciting show to come to Glens Falls since I've been here. The story is historically insightful and fascinating, and the music is incredibly cool, catchy, and just plain energizing. It's not just a show, it's a major musical event. This is ATF's biggest production ever and I'm willing to bet it has a large future ahead of it. But it will start here first at ATF!" - Chad Rabinovitz

THE WORLD'S GREATEST NEW COMEDY

KNIGHTS OF THE SALES OFFICE

By Hank Greene

Directed by Scott Weinstein

July 11-20

Larry, Susan and Craig are locked in mind-numbing sales jobs that are slowly draining each of them. But everything changes when their boss dies and the company grants the office a 30-day mourning period with no sales goals, no dress codes and no corporate oversight. With a newfound freedom, the three embark on a full-scale revolution, build a castle out of office supplies, encounter an army of rats, drink excessive amounts of tequila, and ultimately attempt to right the wrongs of their company's impersonal policies.

The show was originally performed as a stage reading last summer at ATF to a tremendous response and lots of laughs. It was then titled 30 DAY MOURNING PERIOD.

"It's THE OFFICE meets GAME OF THRONES. Yes, the combination is just as ridiculous and funny as you think it is. But it's also surprisingly meaningful and relevant." - Chad Rabinovitz

ROMANTIC COMEDY MUSICAL

THE BOY IN THE BATHROOM

Book & Lyrics by Michael Lluberes

Music & Additional Lyrics by Joe Maloney

Directed by Chad Rabinovitz

July 26 - Aug. 4

David has built an entire world for himself inside of his bathroom, refusing to leave for over a year. His mother cares for him, feeding him only food that can fit underneath the door. But when he meets Julie, a young woman who dreams of seeing what lies beyond the confines of their small Michigan town, David realizes that there may be something-or someone-worth opening up to...

Winner of the NYMF Most Promising New Musical and Best Book Awards.

ATF is working with the playwrights on an updated version of the script that will feature new songs.

"This musical is adorable, sweet, funny, romantic, heartfelt, and quirky. It's such a captivating story unlike any other. When I developed it in Bloomington, it was the hit of the season." - Chad Rabinovitz

MIND-BLOWING ENTERTAINMENT

GLITCHES IN REALITY

Starring Simon Coronel

Directed by Chad Rabinovitz

Aug. 7-12

From the mind of renowned Australian magician, Simon Coronel, comes an evening filled with astonishing and impossible events. Glitches in Reality uses close-up trickery and mind-blowing sleight of hand to take the audience on a journey through the truth behind magic and illusion; a truth that is far more amazing than even the illusions themselves.

Winner of over a dozen international awards including multiple from the prestigious WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF MAGIC, Simon is a regular performer at the Magic Castle and is a university lecturer on perception and illusion.

Simon is currently performing his act in Macau. Simon was recently seen on Penn & Teller's FOOL US. He has a collection of "impossible objects" that will play a part in the show. Simon has appeared on TV in four countries, performed in seven, and is one of the few Australians to be regularly invited to perform at the world famous Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood. He has performed for companies as diverse as Ford, HBO, and Snapchat. The show will be produced at a Mainstage level, but in the Wood Theater Cabaret Space.

"Simon is one of those rare magicians who has tons of charm, a whole heck of a lot of skill, but is also down-to-earth. And he's a creative mind. He's a former Engineer who now uses those skills to invents his own magic. I'll be working with Simon over the next 8 months to develop an entirely original act - it's going to be truly unbelievable!" - Chad Rabinovitz
