The Red House Arts Center in Syracuse, NY presents two enchanting classics in an alternating schedule: Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and Stephen Sondheim's 1987 musical INTO THE WOODS.

Both productions are re-imagined by director Stephen Svoboda in the forests of the Adirondack Mountains at the turn of the 20th century and modern day. Both productions are staged on the same set and feature many of the same actors who tackle the challenge of playing two roles every other performance. Performances run alternating days tonight, January 22nd, through Feb 13th.

Venture INTO THE WOODS like never before in this daring new production of Sondheim's most loved musical. Discover what happens to Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack (of Beanstalk fame), and Little Red Riding Hood before and after "happily ever after." In true Redhouse fashion, this production of INTO THE WOODS features new twists and turns at every path.

You are sure to lose yourself in the magical woods of Shakespeare's timeless romantic tale, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. As the Duke of Athens prepares to wed his Amazonian queen, four lovers flee from their overbearing parents into an enchanted forest where they become unknowingly embroiled in the battle between high-spirited Oberon and Titania, the Fairy King and Fairy Queen. Love, magic, and wonder fill the air in this must-see Shakespeare classic.

The Red House Arts Center's INTO THE WOODS and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM both boast casts of professional and local actors featuring Maxwel Anderson, John Bixler, Chris Coffey, Shelley Cooper, David Cotter, Debra Thais Evans, Julia Goretsky, Lilli Komurek, Marcia Mele, Aubry Panek, Jay Paranada, Cole Smith, Miguel Vasquez, and Robin Virginie. Also inhabiting the woods are Lambrose Alamond, Jim Byrne, Mikayla Carroll, DeLaney Carroll, Jared Dunn, Kate Fahey, Joe Fanelli, Kai Gesak, LaRon Grant, Lynn King, Kasie Patlove, Natalie Pertz, Catherine Rush, Louisa Schramm, Benjamin Sheedy, Kyle Tape, Donnie Williams, and Aggie Woodbury.

INTO THE WOODS and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM feature musical direction by Patrick Burns, choreography by Erin Lafferty, set and properties design by Andrea Ball, costume design by Nikki Delhomme and Katharine Tarkulich, lighting design by Chuan-Chi Chan, and sound design by Anthony Vadala.
