Calling all high school playwrights! In this full-day workshop, a professional playwright will encourage young writers to put their story ideas into play form. Students will be coached on world-, character-, and scene-building techniques for their own plays, and they will learn of the benefits of group feedback for improving their work. This is a great way to gear up for the IRT’s annual Young Playwrights in Process playwriting contest!
Two women-centric theaters in Baltimore have joined forces for a new festival that celebrates Black womxn voices. Strand Theater Company and the new Two Strikes Theatre Collective announce the ten plays that will be produced in the inaugural Brown Sugar Bake-Off: A Black Womxn Virtual Play Festival.
The Box performing arts space at The Gateway presents two virtual opportunities for interested playwrights of all experience levels. The first, PLAYWRITING WITH RJ AND ELISE, is a virtual playwright workshop running three weeks, from June 15 to 29, 6:30-7:30 pm.
