The Summer Musical Conservatory program offers advanced-level training for students in grades 8 - 12 and participation is by audition only. Actors will audition to receive acceptance into our production program(s), and specific casting decisions will be made during the first week of rehearsals. Upon admission to the Summer production, students acknowledge that they will accept any role.

Actors in Newsies will work with peers to bring to life the struggles and triumphs of a rag-tag group of scrappy newsies, bent on making a better life for themselves. With specialized training in acting, vocal technique, and dance, led by industry professionals visiting Aspen to bring their vision and experience to the conservatory company, this program is designed for actors to bond as a summer company, take the next step in their journey as performers, and gain professionally led stage experience.

For the Summer Musical Conservatory 2025, Theatre Aspen will be admitting actors in two stages. We will have a First Round audition and a Second Round audition. Actors who would like to be considered in the First Round may submit a tape by Thursday March 20th, or participate in our In Person Auditions on Thursday March 20th. Actors who are not sure about their summer plans at that point may participate in our Second Round audition by submitting a tape by Sunday May 4th.
