Black Radish Theatre presents their inaugural production of WAITING FOR GODOT, by Samuel Beckett, April 25-May 12, 2019, at the GRAND's Flanagan Theatre (608 1 Street SW).
Two tramps wait on a country road by a tree. They're waiting for a man who promises to, but never arrives.
Waiting for Godot is one of the most iconic and significant plays of the 20th century. Drawing endless interpretations, it crackles with deadpan wit and linguistic invention, as well as offering compelling glimpses into our existential absurdity.
The play reveals humanity's talents for stoicism, companionship and dogged determination.
It asks all the big philosophical questions - about life and death and the uncertain purpose of what goes on in between - but in a way that isn't limited to a particular place or era.
An existential feast seasoned with slapstick comedy.
