Sueños: Our American Musical at 54 Below

Sueños: Our American Musical tells the story of three generations of a Mexican-American family and their pursuit of the American Dream. Through a Latino-Music infused score containing shades of Pop, Musical Theatre, and R&B, the story follows Ali as he chases his dreams of being a musician and composer against his pious family´s wishes as he learns about family, sacrifice and himself in this intergeneration coming of age story.

With Book, Music & Lyrics by Jesse J. Sanchez (Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Hamilton, Color My World) and orchestrations & additional music by Jeff Chambers, this story reminds us all of what it is like to have a Sueño, what it takes to make those dreams come true and how dreams change.  New York Theatre Barn, Kierstead Productions and Straighten Your Crown Productions have worked together for the past two years in developing Sueños in residencies, creating a concept EP of the show and tonight's concert which is staring Broadway's Robi Hager!
