The Mingus Orchestra brings the legacy of legendary bassist and composer Charles Mingus to life through a unique performance of lesser-known works. This 10-piece ensemble, a sister group to the renowned Mingus Big Band and Mingus Dynasty, showcases unconventional orchestrations infused with creativity and passion. Continuing to honor both Mingus and the late Sue Mingus, the performance promises an exploration of the boundaries of jazz by some of New York's most talented musicians. The concert will take place at Birdland from August 23 to 25, 2024.
