Eden in Olympia, featuring renowned mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, premieres on Carnegie Hall+ on July 26, 2024. This cinematic performance, set against the historical backdrop of Ancient Olympia, incorporates a diverse array of music from Handel to contemporary composers, aligning with the spirit of the 2024 Paris Olympics. DiDonato is joined by the period ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro and three children's choirs, exploring themes of environmental stewardship and connection to nature. Directed by Olivier Simonnet, the presentation embodies timeless Olympic values through its emphasis on inclusion and sustainability.
