This Saturday, December 16, 2017, The RRAZZ ROOM in New Hope, Pennsylvania adds to its diverse list of unique performers as it welcomes "Zachary Clause Does Bette Midler at The Continental Baths, 1971."
Don't expect a typical drag show: Mr Clause will transport you back to the roots of the Divine Miss M: when she was the wind beneath many an audience members wing---, er, TOWELS! And couldn't we all do well to escape the 21st Century and spend time in the iconic Continental Baths?
The year was 1971. Bette Midler was on the verge of stardom, and Barry Manilow was still unknown. Together, this duo performed regularly for the shirtless homosexuals of The Continental Bathhouse. Zachary Clause playfully summons the ghosts from a mythical moment in queer history in his recreation of one of Bette's final performances at The Baths. Bring your own towel things might get steamy as we try to answer the age old question What becomes a superstar most? The show is directed by Reed Whitney with music direction by Danny Cohen.
