A bright light and close friend of the New York theater community, peers and performers will collaborate in a one night only cabaret style performance to honor Dorina Di Lullo, who passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2013 at the age of 44. Survived by her husband Charles J. Richardson and two sons, Charlie and Bennett, all proceeds from this concert will go directly to the Dorina Di Lullo Memorial Trust, set up to lend aid to her children and loved ones in the wake of her passing.
Performers will re-create and pay tribute to the work and repertoire of Dorina at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, a venue at which Di Lullo starred in Smokey Joe's Cafe, Oliver and The Full Monty, among others. Citing specific work of Dorina through past footage and audio, much of her theatrical contributions will be restaged along side of the use of such media to contrast the legacy in which she leaves behind to audiences and peers. Students from Westchester's On Hudson Dance and Karate School and Central Park Dance, where Dorina was a teacher for over ten years, will perform excerpts from Di Lullo's favorited work, as well as performers from the Lighthouse Youth Theatre, where Dorina was a director and teacher.
This one night only performance will take place tonight, June 17 at 7pm at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, located at 75 Clearbrook Road in Elmsford New York. There will be a Cocktail reception and silent auction at 6pm. Individual tickets are priced at $40.
Tickets are on sale online at www.dorinadilullomemorial.org or by phone at 1(866) 967-8167. Contributions to the Dorina Di Lullo Memorial Trust can be sent to P.O Box 350, Hastings on Hudson, NY 10708. All inquiries can be sent to dorinadilullomemorial@gmail.com.
