An Evening with Justin Brill - Direct from playing Boq on the first national tour of Wicked, Justin Brill brings an evening of songs and stories tracing his path from his home in Annapolis, Maryland to Broadway and beyond.

This cabaret concert is Monday, April 15 at 7:00 PM on the Headlee Mainstage at Lakewood Center for the Arts.

Mr. Brill sings Broadway favorites and shares stories from his time on Broadway and in Vegas with All Shook Up, Rent, High Fidelity, Mamma Mia and Spamalot. He also dips back in time featuring classics including a medley of songs by Irving Berlin and George Gershwin. Veteran Lakewood musical director/ pianist Mont Chris Hubbard will accompany Mr. Brill.

The cabaret concert is a benefit performance for LTC's Rising Stars program (education and performance opportunities for emerging and established talent).

Mr. Brill will also be conducting a two-day intensive master class prior to his cabaret performance. The master class is geared toward actors interested in auditioning for productions, competitions, professional training and college or conservatory programs.

Several of the master class participants will have the opportunity to perform with Justin in the Monday night performance.

Brill is a graduate of the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama where he was the recipient of Charles Willard Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre.

Mont Chris Hubbard is an accomplished Portland composer/performer/music director. He has released three CDs of solo piano improvisations and is the co-creator of the PAMTA nominated musical Carnies.

The theatre is located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State St. in Lake Oswego. Ticket prices are $20. Other discounts are available for groups. For additional information and tickets, call the Lakewood Box Office at (503) 635-3901 or order online at www.lakewood-center.org.

60 Years of Live Theatre: Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1952, Lakewood Theatre Company is a professional theatre dedicated to the study and presentation of drama in all its forms; the training and development of actors; and the creation, maintenance and operation of a theatre in which to present plays and other forms of entertainment. It annually provides more than 400 theatre artists the opportunity to learn and display their craft and attracts more than 40,000 people to its shows.

Mr. Brill grew up Annapolis, Maryland, stretching his time in every possible direction. As a kid, he played baseball and soccer, played violin in the school orchestras, sang in the school choir, and acted in community theatre and school musicals. He was accepted into Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama and performed in shows including The Philadelphia Story, A Flea in Her Ear, The Fantasticks, And the World Goes Round, and A Little Night Music. After graduating in May 2000 with honors, he moved to New York and started his professional career. After a few years of balancing part-time work with short jobs out of town, he booked his first big job, playing Puck in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Nights' Dream at The Metropolitan Opera. Since then, he has been a part of shows such as Beauty and the Beast (National Tour), Mamma Mia! (Las Vegas), All Shook Up!, Rent, High Fidelity and Monty Python's Spamalot (Las Vegas) and Wicked (National Tour).
