NYC's well-known wacky musical comedy sister duo of Vickie and Nickie, played by real life sisters Lisa and Lori Brigantino, are returning to Don't Tell Mama for one night only on Saturday December 4th to perform their new holiday show, Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride! - a celebration of the holiday season Minnesotan-style! The sisters will take the audience on a zany journey as they share their rise to "fame", family stories and their own special take on the holidays and the world today. The Brigantino sisters premiered their last new show Inside Vickie & Nickie! at Don't Tell Mama in July to rave reviews: Jenna Esposito of Broadwayworld.com says, "The talented Brigantino sisters put on a show unlike any other - their characters are complete, well-rounded, and immensely entertaining, and their musical talent is undeniable!" And Jon Sobel of Blogcritics.com concludes "The musical-comedy duo Vickie and Nickie are back with a fresh hour of brash singing, multi-instrumental musical hijinks, and faux-Midwestern shtick. This time out, it's Inside Vickie and Nickie, an "autobiographical" tour through the origins of the fast-talking Minnesota moms who are, as always, played to the hilt by sumptuously bedecked and bewigged real-life sisters Lisa and Lori Brigantino." The Brigantino sisters were seen in December 2009 premiering their last holiday show 'Tis The Season With Vickie & Nickie! at Don't Tell Mama to a sold out house on closing night. Jon Sobel of Blogcritics said "Straight from "the prison circuit" and the land of lutefisk - Garrison Keillor fans will know what that is - the pair poke good-natured fun at middle-of-the-road American culture while revving up the crowd with perfectly executed vocal harmonies and musicianship (keyboards, guitar, uke, sax...) ...Vickie and Nickie, [are] two busy Midwestern moms who take to the stage to delight and entertain with humorous banter (abundant), multi-instrumental musical talents (considerable), and big ol' personalities (wickedly twisted, if all in good family-friendly fun) .

The multi-instrumental, singing suburban housewife sister duo from Minnesota are played by native New Yorkers and real life sisters, Lisa and Lori Brigantino who have been performing together musically since they were children, but created the characters of Vickie and Nickie only 7 years ago. During the course of their shows they intertwine pop and original songs with dialogue, improv and audience participation all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, violin, ukuleles, percussion and more. Lori (Vickie) holds a Major in Theatre and a Minor in Music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio 2 year Meisner Actor Training Program. She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd. Her credits include "The Last Nickel" at The NYC International Fringe Festival, "Trials & Fibs" Off Broadway at The Soho Playhouse and several Off-Off Broadway plays and independent films. Lori is a member of Actor's Equity Association, BMI and MAC. Lisa (Nickie) is a classically trained composer and professional musician with a Master of Music in composition & theory from SUNY Fredonia. She writes for dance, theater, film and TV and most recently wrote a National TV spot for Plato's Closet and the score for the short film "Game Night". Lisa released her second solo CD "Wonder Wheel" on June 7, 2010 to great reviews. Lisa was a founding member of the all girl rock band, Lez Zeppelin, and toured internationally with the band, playing bass, keyboards and mandolin. They released their self-titled debut CD in 2007, recorded and produced by legendary engineer/producer, Eddie Kramer. Lisa is a member of BMI, NARAS, The Songwriters Guild of America and serves on the advisory board of Women In Music, Inc.

The Brigantino sisters were last seen at Don't Tell Mama this past October for an encore performance of Inside Vickie & Nickie! They took the show out of town in August to perform at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta, NY. Last summer they brought their 2 set show, Vickie & Nickie's Sizzlin' Summer Spectacular! and The Best of Vickie & Nickie! to Foothills in July and August. This creative sister duo have now written and performed 9 full shows including: Vickie & Nickie's Sizzlin' Summer Spectacular! which played to sold out houses at Don't Tell Mama and The Vickie & Nickie Dream Tour! which had very successful runs in NYC at Upstairs at Rose's Turn and The Duplex. In addition, Vickie and Nickie have made appearances in many variety and comedy shows in NYC including most recently The Talent Show Brand Variety Show at The Gershwin Hotel, Danny Leary's popular "On the Rocks" weekly variety show at The Duplex (a Time Out NY critics pick), Becky Donohue and Danny Leary's "The Cocktail Show" at Don't Tell Mama, The Huxley Vertical Presents: Brave New Kabaret at the Triad and "The Rocha Dance Theatre's Glamour Bash" at the Galapagos Art Space in Dumbo, Brooklyn. On November 18th the Brigantino sisters will be appearing in Danny Leary's new Time Out New York critics pick show "The Danny Leary Variety Extravaganza!" at Comix in NYC.
