Critically acclaimed vocalist Maxine Linehan announced today that she will release a single of U2's hit "One" on Monday, March 14 on iTunes. All profits from the sale of the single will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in the spirit of giving that U2 laid out when they first released the benefit single to raise money for AIDS research.

As previously announced, Linehan will explore depth and breadth of the songbook of "the biggest band in the world" (Rolling Stone) in One - The Songs of U2 on Monday, March 14 at 7pm at Birdland (315 West 44th Street) as part of the Broadway at Birdland series. She will now be joined by guest vocalists Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera, I Am Harvey Milk) and Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful, Jersey Boys) to perform U2 classics like "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Beautiful Day," "Where the Streets Have No Name," and of course the quintessential "One."
After the success of last year's U2 concert at Birdland, Linehan returns, this time with an all-new show, revealing new meaning within the unforgettable melodies and poetic lyrics of the world's biggest band. Maxine Linehan has performed at venues as diverse as Lincoln Center, Ars Nova, Birdland, and The Town Hall. Brian Charles Rooney made his Broadway debut The Threepenny Opera (Roundabout Theatre Co.) and won the CT Critics Circle Award for POP! (Yale Repertory). Brian has won two NY Musical Theatre Festival Outstanding Performance Awards for Bedbugs!!! (2008) & Bayonets of Angst (2014). He appeared with Kristin Chenoweth at Lincoln Center in Andrew Lippa's I Am Harvey Milk and at Carnegie Hall in Guys & Dolls starring Nathan Lane and Megan Mullally. TV: "Camelot, Live from Lincoln Center" and "Sondheim! The Birthday Concert" (both for PBS). In 2007, Brian won The Kurt Weill Foundation's Lys Symonette Award for Dramatic Excellence. Jarrod Spector is from Philadelphia, attended Princeton University, and studied acting at the Atlantic Theater Company. He was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance as Barry Mann in Beautiful - The Carole King Musical and played Frankie Valli in Broadway's Jersey Boys for a record 1500 performances. Other credits include Broadway's Les Miserables (Gavroche) and the national tours of Les Miserables and Jersey Boys. Off-Broadway he has played the title role in Hamlet, and regionally he played Bert Berns in Piece of My Heart (NY Stage & Film).
