Trudy Carmichael Presents" The Improvised One-Woman Show! on April 29th, 2017 at 7:00pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theater.

Running time: 50 minutes. Tickets ($5 online/$10 at the door) can be purchased at www.theduplex.com/site/calendar.

Everyone's favorite legendary Las Vegas lounge singer, Trudy Carmichael has LIVED (and nearly died) LOVED (and often lost) more than most mere mortals, but she gets through all of her trials and tribulations through the art of song!

Based upon an audience suggestion of a made-up One-Woman Show title and their own personal objects, she weaves together an entirely original musically improvised One-Woman Show ON THE SPOT detailing the triumphs and challenges of her sensational, storied past accompanied by Frank Spitznagel on the keys and Steve Whyte on the drums!

TRUDY CARMICHAEL made her first appearance in the Las Vegas-inspired musical improv revue, The Royal Flushes at The Upright Citizens Brigade in 2005. She continued to perform in comedy and Cabaret Venues around NYC before landing a permanent gig at The Magnet Theater, NYC as the host of the Musical Improv Mixer in 2009 for The First Annual New York Musical Improv Festival, which she still hosts to this day. She has also served as Mistress of Ceremonies for various private and charitable events including Covenant House International, Upper West Side Campaign Against Huger and The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corp Marching Band. Additionally, Trudy has proudly garnered the titles of First Runner-Up in The New York Soul Sensation Competition at New World Stages as well as First Place winner of The Cabaret Show Down at the Kraine Theater.

FRANK SPITZNAGEL (Pianist) is the Musical Director at Magnet Theater and a piano accompanist who frequently plays for such improv groups as I Eat Pandas, Veal, The Made-Up Musical, Gusto, and many others. He is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, where he studied piano performance. His work can be heard on several studio recordings. Frank has composed for Comedy Central and the Aspen Comedy Festival. He accompanied Itzhak Perlman in an original jazz composition by Benny Golson at Lincoln Center. He also played the American premiere of The Hired Man Off-Broadway. He has been musical director for productions such as Nunsense (all incarnations), A Chorus Line, Chicago City Limits, and several original musicals.

STEVE WHYTE - (Percussionist) is a drummer, Moth GrandSlam champion and three-time StorySlam winner as well as a member of the musical improv house team, Goats at the Magnet Theater. In addition to performing with past ensembles, BEEES! College, DAVID! and The Stragglers, he has also performed improvised percussion for Choral Rage, The Made Up Musical and Baby Wants Candy.
