GOD BLESS AMERICA: THE MUSIC OF Irving Berlin FEAT. Kenita Miller, Quentin Earl Darrington, AND MORE, JULY 5 AT 9:30PM

Jerome Kern once said, "Irving Berlin has no place in American music. He IS American music!" And no one less than Isaac Stern said, "America's music was born at his piano." From "Alexander's Ragtime Band' to "White Christmas," and from "Always" to "Easter Parade," Berlin also had his finger on the pulse of the nation.

At Feinstein's/54 Below we will honor what's best in America - our people, our talent, our generosity, our spirit - and all of it in the extraordinary music of Mr. Berlin. It was Berlin who desegregated Broadway when he hired Ethel Waters to star in the first mixed race show - his show, in his theater - in 1933. It was Irving Berlin who stood tall in the late 1930's to rally America with "God Bless America" as storm clouds gathered over Europe. And it was Irving Berlin who took the famous words written on The Statue of Liberty and wrote a stirring song about what America means to the world!

Will this be a patriotic show at Feinstein's/54 Below? Yes, in the most encompassing and embracing way possible. Will this be an entertaining show? Of course it will; As Jerome Kern also said, "I don't know anyone who sits down to write a hit song except Irving Berlin; he can't help writing hits!" And will this show celebrate the July 4th holiday spirit? Well, when it comes to Irving Berlin and holiday songs, Oscar Hammerstein II said, "You can't have a holiday without his permission."

NYC impresario, Scott Siegel, will assemble an extraordinary cast of Broadway and nightclub stars to celebrate America through the music of Irving Berlin. Siegel has created more than 300 major concerts throughout the world, including writing, directing and producing concerts for Michael Feinstein. He is, perhaps, best known as the creator, writer, director, and host of Town Hall's signature series, Broadway by the Year.

Come join us and celebrate Irving Berlin's - and your - America!

NEW MUSICAL: OCEANBORN! BY Morgan Smith & MHAIRI CAMERON, JULY 6 AT 9:30PM

Join us at Feinstein's/54 Below for a thrilling evening featuring the songs of Oceanborn, performed in concert by the writers. Oceanborn was created through the collaboration of two teenage women, a composer and playwright, writing of the mythic female heroes of ages past. The youngest duo on the New York Theatre scene, Cameron & Smith's work has been lauded as "revelatory" and "the future of Broadway."

Oceanborn follows two young women as they face the pressures and expectations of future leadership in a climate of violence and uncertainty. Acerbic wit balanced with heartrending poignancy, this musical tackles the cyclic nature of violence and xenophobia head on. Mhairi Cameron, composer and head lyricist, has won national awards in poetry and has worked professionally in television and film. Morgan Smith, book writer and co-lyricist, is a novelist and playwright whose writings have been published in the US and internationally, and recognized at the Yale and Kenyon Writer's Conferences. Join Rita Rudner for her long-awaited return to Feinstein's/54 Below!

A house-filling favorite in Las Vegas since she opened in June 2000, Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. Over the course of a fourteen year run and 2,000 plus shows, she has sold one and a half million tickets and become the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas, even being named Las Vegas' Comedian Of The Year nine years in a row.

Rita Rudner moved to New York at the age of fifteen to become a dancer on Broadway. She appeared in several shows, including the original productions of Follies and Mack and Mabel. It was while in Annie on Broadway that she began exploring the comedy clubs of Manhattan. In the early '80s, Rudner took a full-time leap from chorus lines to punch lines and was soon a regular guest on both "Late Night With David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show."

Rita's first solo HBO special, "Rita Rudner's One Night Stand," was nominated for several awards, as was her eponymous English BBC television show that later appeared in the USA on A&E. Rudner's two one-hour specials for HBO filled Carnegie Hall in New York three times and the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles twice. In 2008, "Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas" was PBS's first ever stand-up comedy special.

Rudner is a frequent collaborator with her writer/producer husband of twenty six years, Martin Bergman. The couple's first play - Room 776 - ran as part of the 2008 season of the Las Vegas Little Theatre. Their second play, based on Rita's first novel Tickled Pink, premiered at the Laguna Playhouse in April 2012.
