TinyRhino is: The Theatrical Drinking Game. It is also UglyRhino's take on the ten-minute play festival. This month, UglyRhino has commissioned four playwrights to write new plays, each including the same five dramatic elements. They might show up at any time, in any order, and with any frequency. When they do show up, they are cues for the audience to drink.
This month's playwrights include: Boo Killebrew (Romance Novels for Dummies), Max Posner (Judy), Harrison David Rivers (Sweet), and Susan Soon He Stanton (Seek).
This month's directors include: Knud Adams (Loveplay/Playmoney), David Mendizabal (Look Upon our Lowliness), Danny Sharron (UglyRhino co-founder, Ana Gasteyer: Swing With A Handsome Woman), and Jen Wineman (Fable).
February's drinking game elements will include: a kiss, a Freudian slip, someone throws a punch, someone speaks in a foreign language, and someone removes an article of clothing.
The American roots rock band, The Good Morning Nags, will open the evening at 6:00pm with their exuberant spin on old-timey, Appalachian, bluegrass, blues, country, ragtime, and Irish folk songs.
TinyRhino will be on Monday, February 8 at 7pm (doors and music at 6pm) at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street, New York). Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here http://joespub.publictheater.org/reserve/index.aspx?performanceNumber=30351.
