Tina Maddigan Hosts 'Monday Nights' with Tom Kitt at Duplex

The third season of the acclaimed Monday Nights, New Voices series continues October 8 at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Tina Maddigan, who stared as the original Sophie in the smash hit Mamma Mia!, hosts the evening, which features the talents of Lauren Blackman, Randy Blair, Sarah Davis, Mykal Kilgore and Julia Osborne. Show time is 7PM.

High Fidelity's Tom Kitt will be the evening's guest composer.  Kitt will accompany the new performers on material from High Fidelity, the upcoming Next to Normal, and another song penned by the composer.  Barbara Anselmi is the musical director.

Composer Scott Alan launched the Monday Nights, New Voices series to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York."

Tina Maddigan is an Award Nominated actress, last seen on Broadway as Julia Sullivan in The Wedding Singer. Tina is best known for originating the role of Sophie in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia! She also originated the role in the first Toronto and North American Touring Company.  Maddigan hosted "Road Trip" for the Discovery Channel and wrote and produced for Sprint TV and dished the gossip in her segment "Tina Talk."

Tom Kitt is a composer whose work has been heard on Broadway (High Fidelity), Off-Broadway (Debbie Does Dallas, Dog Sees God) in film (The Two Ninas), television ("Dawson's Creek"), and original recordings (Julia Murney, The Tom Kitt Band). Tom's next musical, Next To Normal, written with Brian Yorkey and directed by Michael Greif (Rent, Grey Gardens), will start performances in January at 2nd Stage.  As a musical director, orchestrator, conductor, and pianist, Tom has worked on many shows including Laugh Whore, Urban Cowboy, Bombay Dreams and Debbie Does Dallas.  Tom is also proud to have been selected as a 2005 Fred Ebb award finalist, and as a 2004 Jonathan Larson Foundation award winner for Next to Normal.
