Award winning actor/writer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight; The Emperor's Club), who recently had a critically acclaimed and sold-out (not-so-solo) solo show at 54 Below entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help), is currently touring his new show this fall entitled Tim Realbuto: Wunderkind. The new show features Realbuto talking about his life growing up in the theatre, with the help of some very special guest stars.

The first stop on Realbuto's Wunderkind tour was at The Triad Theatre on Monday, September 1st at 7:00 PM, which happened to be Tim's 30's birthday. Guests for that show included Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Sabrina The Teenage Witch" star Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked; Bare: A Pop Opera), current Pippin star Ariana DeBose (Bring It On; Motown; "So You Think You Can Dance"), Melissa Dye (Into the Woods; Grease), Laurissa Romain (South Pacific; Finally Famous; "Are We There Yet?"), Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Danny and Sylvia; One Night With Fanny Brice; Ghostlight), David Corris (Avenue Q; Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson; Imaginocean) and Abigail Ludrof (The HVAC Plays; Ghostlight). The ensemble included Mat Burrow (Naked Boys Singing), Julie D'Moure (Hair), newcomer Thomas Ian Johnson and Allison St. Rock (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). The September 1st show also featured a special performance by Tim's Ghostlight co-writer Matthew Martin.

The next stop on the Wunderkind tour is the Laurie Beechman Theatre on October 13th, 2014 at 7:00 PM. The Beechman happens to be the last stage Joan Rivers ever performed on. Realbuto, who happened to be in the audience at Joan's last show ever, said in a statement "All of us here in the Broadway community are deeply heartbroken over the loss of Joan. She was a pioneer and a bright light in this world that truly needs some laughter. I'm honored to be doing my show on the same stage where Joan brought so many people such happiness. I'm dedicating my Beechman show to her memory, and donating a large portion of my proceeds to Joan's favorite charity 'God's Love We Deliver', which prepares and delivers food for those too sick to shop or cook for themselves. I will continue to donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, since my entire tour is meant to raise money for M.S. awareness, since my mother suffers from it. However I wanted to honor Joan and her legacy when I did my show at the Beechman, her old stomping ground."

It seems Wunderkind might have life after its mini-NYC tour is over. An insider from the production hints that there is talk of bringing to show to Orlando at the end of the year and possibly even Los Angeles next year.

This is how Wunderkind is described: "Former child "star" and current NYC based award-winning writer and performer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight; The Emperor's Club) has just turned 30 and is struggling with where he fits in the world, where he has been and where he is going. In this deeply personal, poignant, and hilarious show Tim will tell the (mostly) true story of how he grew up in show business and went from former child actor to the adult writer of the popular new Broadway-Bound musical Ghostlight. Some of Tim's famous Broadway friends will help him along the way, playing different characters from his past, as well as the voices in his head. Expect an evening filled with plenty of well-known tunes, originals, diva impressions, and special guest appearances from popular stars of stage and screen. Was Tim ever a wunderkind? Is it too late to become one now? Isn't that funniest sounding word ever?" Tim Realbuto: Wunderkind is written and conceived by Realbuto, with musical direction provided by Julianne B. Merrill.
