Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records will join with Sara Katz to present Things to Ruin: The Songs of Joe Iconis for a strictly-limited run at (Le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). Show times will be February 28 at 10pm, March 7 at 7:30pm, and March 20 and March 28 at 10:30pm.

Things To Ruin is an incendiary collection of songs by Kleban and Larson Award Winner Joe Iconis (writer of the rock musical The Black Suits and Bloodsong of Love, which premiered at Ars Nova in spring 2010). It is a theatrical rock concert about human beings who are messy, emotional, drugged up, knocked down, inspired, electric and who don't have nearly enough time to cause the kind of commotion they so desperately need to. Performed by a cast of viciously talented young singers and a highly flammable four-piece band led by Joe himself, Things To Ruin rocks with an occasionally profane and always heartfelt explosion of music and high drama.

Things To Ruin has previously been seen at the Second Stage Theatre, The Zipper Factory, Joe's Pub and Ars Nova. The (Le) Poisson Rouge run will reunite much of the same cast and band which previously appeared in the show at Second Stage and The Zipper Factory, including Nick Blaemire, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, Ian Kagey, Eric William Morris, Mike Pettry, Lance Rubin, Brent Stranathan, Jason "Sweet Tooth" Williams and Joe Iconis. Additional casting will be announced shortly. Director John Simpkins and Musical Supervisor Matt Hinkley will also return for this new incarnation.

Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records released the double-disc album of Things to Ruin on September 21, 2010. Visit http://sh-k-boom.com/thingstoruin.shtml for details about the OCR, audio samples of multiple tracks and more.

Kurt Deutsch, President of Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records, had this to say: "Joe Iconis is one of the most exciting new voices in musical theatre. The first time I heard the song "I Was Born This Morning," I thought it screamed with vitality and raw human emotion. Here was a new guy in town fusing rock, pop and musical theatre in a way I hadn't heard before. Things to Ruin is raw, passionate and about people dealing with their stuff in a real way. His songs speak especially to the generation growing up right now, and I envision young performers hearing this album and wanting to do the concert in their theatre companies and schools, sing the songs in their own concerts and in auditions, and keep spreading Joe's music. I encourage that and can't wait to see the Things to Ruin movement grow." Things to Ruin is one of the latest in a series of releases from Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records which highlight the new generation of the musical Theatre World, furthering the label's mission to support and encourage new works and writers. Other recent releases in the new musical theatre genre include Kerrigan-Lowdermilk's Our First Mistake, Jonathan Reid Gealt's Thirteen Stories Down, Adam Gwon's Ordinary Days , Will Van Dyke's Chasing the Day, and Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel's (Sorta) Love Songs

Tickets for the concerts are $20 and on sale now at lepoissonrouge.com or by calling (212) 505-FISH (3474). (Le) Poisson Rouge is located at 158 Bleecker Street in NYC. Doors open at 6:30pm for the 7:30pm show, 9:30pm for the 10pm show and 10pm for the 10:30pm shows.
