After you've had enough turkey and family drama this Thanksgiving, why not join us for an evening of comedy, music and sequins!

Liberace lived a life of flamboyance, sparkle, and lavish costumes. In this funny and touching tribute, the virtuoso musician gets one last chance to glitter and shine as he tickles the ivories through his favorite songs. Miss Peggy Lee is beyond description.

New York City favorites David Maiocco and Chuck Sweeney will reprise their iconic performance as the legends who defined four decades of music and pop culture.

The performance will be at The Metropolitan Room on Friday, November 25th, at 9:30PM.

WRITTEN BY David Maiocco & Chuck Sweeney
David Maiocco has traveled globally playing for some of the most iconic legends of all times - or at least, reasonable facsimiles! For 14 years, he played the piano and the role of Mort Lindsay in Judy Garland Live! starring Tommy Femia in dozens of U.S cities including New York, San Francisco, Chicago, as well as London, England. David has served as musical director and pianist for Chuck Sweeney as Miss Peggy Lee, James Beaman's Marlene Dietrich Live at The Cafe Du Paris, and Black Market Marlene in New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, Munich and Berlin, Germany - Steven Brinberg's Simply Barbra - Carol Channing and Friends with Richard Skipper - James Beaman's Lauren Bacall at Don't Tell Mama. His decades of musical directing experience have put him on (and sometimes under) multiple theatre stages in NYC, nationally and abroad. David was the orchestrator, musical director, and conductor for "I Will Come Back!" by Timothy Gray and Hugh Martin - Off Broadway at The Players Theatre. Classical piano studies with Burton Hatheway of Fairfield, CT; Alfred E. Lee and Jung Ja Kim; Boston Conservatory, and Gabriel Chodos; New England Conservatory and Aspen Music Festival. In cabaret concerts and guest spots, David has had the pleasure of playing for artists such as Ben Vereen, John Barrowman, Ann Hampton Callaway, Karen Mason, Pamela Myers, Christine Pedi, among others. His Cabaret work earned him the 2000 Backstage Magazine Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Direction as well as the 2002 MAC Award for Best Musical Director. David is so thrilled and honored to share the stage with the incredibly talented Chuck Sweeney for this production. Liberace and Peggy Lee has become a long term dream finally come true. David is also thrilled to have established residency at the historic Bijou Theatre in order to debut this very exciting series.

Chuck Sweeney has been dazzling audiences with his delightfully off-center homage to the legendary Miss Peggy Lee since 19-. He was lucky enough to experience the magic of Miss Leeduring her sold out run at The Ballroom in NYC. Truth be told, it all started as a child in his living room imitating "The Wizard of Oz", "The Sound of Music" and all of the guests on the Mike Douglas and Merv Griffin shows. From the legendary Madeira Room at The Pilgrim House in Provincetown to The Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom, Chuck has performed in some of the most well known cabarets and theaters in the U.S. and Canada. His repertoire of comic impressions include Judy Garland, Bette Davis, Eartha Kitt, Tina Turner, Phyllis Diller, Liza, Joan Rivers, Katherine Hepburn, Merman and Cher to name a few. As "Miss Lee" he has performed in just about every cabaret in NYC (Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, Symphony Space, Friars Club, Madison Square Garden, BB Kings, Gotham Comedy Club) and participated in too many comedy shows to list here. He was honored to be a featured Guest Star and Host(ess) at The "Just For Laughs" Montreal Comedy Festival Queer Comics Night. Chuck began his solo cabaret career with lyricist-composer Michael Ogborn in Provincetown, MA at the fabled Pilgrim House. In addition to his one-man show, Chuck appeared in Ogborns' cabaret revues including, "Plat du Jour", "Regalia... a Musical Revue for the Gay 90s!" and "Sophisticated Twinkees". Look for the CD/online release of "Sophisticated Twinkees" this Fall. He has been in numerous musical theatre productions in addition to his cabaret career. Chuck is a recipient of the Backstage Bistro Award and a two-time MAC Award winner for Outstanding Impersonation under the Musical Direction of David Maiocco. He is extremely happy and excited to share the stage with David/Liberace in "Lee Squared".
