Jim Caruso's Cast Party and TheaterMania.com are proud to announce the triumphant return of The Broadway Boys on Monday, December 3 at 7PM, as part of the long-running, critically-heralded and popular concert series Broadway at Birdland.
Made up of the hottest male talents gracing the New York stage, The Broadway Boys include: Danny Calvert (Altar Boyz), Steve Morgan (Good Vibrations), Maurice Murphy (Spelling Bee), Jesse Nager (Mary Poppins), Josh Strickland (Tarzan) and Daniel Torres (The Pirate Queen).
Created by Jesse Nager in 2005 for a one-off club performance, the overwhelming response from the sold-out crowd led to by-demand return engagements, and, within weeks, the formalization of a performance group dedicated to mixing pop, jazz, gospel, and funk elements with Broadway standards. Performing in groups of six, The Broadway Boys are able explore harmonies rarely presented by Broadway singers and create their signature "Symphony of Sound."
The Broadway Boys aim to introduce audiences outside the theater community to new genres of music, as well as to produce new arrangements of classic showtunes and standards, for more established fans.
Since their inception over two years ago, The Broadway Boys have performed at celebrated venues including Joe's Pub; The Cutting Room; and The Weston Playhouse, Vermont's oldest professional theater – as well as at numerous charitable benefits, including Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS; Toys for Tots; and the United Nations Association HERO Campaign.
The Broadway Boys at Birdland perform Monday December 3 at 7PM at the legendary Birdland (315 West 44th Street, between 8th & 9th Aves).
Tickets are $25 plus $10 food/drink minimum per person. Available online at www.birdlandjazz.com or call 212-581-3080.
