What happens when a composer and a lyricist have to write a song from a new musical (invented on the spot), in a style determined by the spin of a wheel... IN 20 MINUTES?

Brain-frying fun!

TUNE IN TIME, New York City's exciting, new songwriting challenge will premiere at Stage 72 at The Triad Monday April 7 and 14 at 7pm. A lineup of great musical theater songwriters is ready to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Three teams of composers and lyricists take on the challenge of a title picked from a hat and the spin of the dreaded Genre Wheel. Will it be rock? Traditional, á la Rodgers & Hammerstein? Experimental? Or even [insert name of large theme-park owning mega-corporation-turned-Broadway-megalopolis here]?

TUNE IN TIME is produced by MAC Songwriting Award-winner Amy Engelhardt (formerly of Grammy-nominated vocal band, The Bobs) and Heather Shields, co-founder of While We Wait Productions. "Tune in Time will be a great combination of improvisation and instinct -but in this show it's the songwriters, not the actors who will dare to live at the lip of their creativity," says Engelhardt. "It's serious fun -you've got to trust your instincts and commit 300%. I can't wait to see what comes out of these minds!"

TUNE IN TIME is hosted by club and cabaret überhost Emily McNamara (The Chocolate Show, NEWSical, Getting the Band Back Together), and acclaimed musical director Nate Buccieri (Brandy's, The Duplex, Don't Tell Mama) will tickle and pound the ivories. The show will feature different celebrity judges each week... and "fabulous" prizes.

But the true star of the evening will be the brains of the writers. Can they write a TUNE IN TIME?
