THREE OF HEARTS: A Benefit For The Family Center featuring BETH ARENTSEN, Mark Anthony LEE & LINDSEY WILSON

Saturday, February 26 at 7:00 PM; $20
Beth Arentsen, Mark Anthony Lee, and Lindsey Wilson return to Joe's Pub for an unforgettable evening of song to benefit The Family Center, a NYC-based organization that works to create a more secure present and future for children whose parents have a life-threatening illness by providing comprehensive legal and social services, education, and research. Their work is fueled by the belief that every child deserves an answer to the question: Who Will Take Care of Me?

Three of Hearts uses music as a catalyst for raising awareness about socio-cultural concerns in our community while entertaining audiences with some of the best independent musicians and vocalists from different corners of the NYC music scene. Known as the vivacious lead singer of the funk-jazz collective P-1, Beth Arentsen brings her intricate, piano-based stories of love and loss from her critically acclaimed albums, Sap and Nicer, to the Joe's Pub stage while Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Lindsey Wilson enchants with a set of her mellifluous "electrified folk-jazz" melodies. Bridging the two sensibilities is Mark Anthony Lee, who interprets and illuminates hidden gems from icons of folk, pop, and R&B through his singularly soulful and sophisticated voice.
All proceeds from Three of Hearts will benefit The Family Center. http://www.thefamilycenter.org/

Ballots will be handed out before the show. The audience will compete for "Best" and "Worst" Dressed. Levi Kreis / ERIC HIMANMonday, February 28 at 7:00 PM; $20

Eric Himan is so grassroots, his face is green. Though his music tells a different story. Without the help of record labels, booking agents, publicists, or management, Eric Himan is touring to more places, getting great press coverage, and still has time to run his record label, Thumbcrown Records, home to his six studio albums. He just released his newest (selling out of his first shipment before the drop date), Resonate, and has five years of solid touring in the US under his belt. Magazines in the LGBT community took notice right away (The Advocate, OUT Magazine, Instinct) and newspapers (such as the Boston Herald, Pittsburgh-Post Gazette, and Phoenix New Times) interviewed him to find out what makes this work horse stay in the game despite obstacles such as major label artists, rooms that are booked by big agencies, and finding his audience.
Fender Guitars even recognized his talent by not only endorsing him but featuring him in their 2004 Fender Catalogue. As he toured more frequently, he began to appear on Sirius Radio's OUTQ Channel and his music videos began heavy rotation on MTV's owned LOGO Channel. This led to a nomination for music artist this year at the NewNowNext Awards where he appeared alongside Cyndi Lauper, Project Runway's Christian Syriano, and pop sensation, Leona Lewis.

His music draws comparisons to male artists such as Maroon 5 and John Mayer but also female singer-songwriters, Ani DiFranco and Tracy Chapman. He is on his way to your town and you would be a fool to miss this much charisma. He will have you singing along to his songs till your blue in the face, or should we say green.

"It's all about acceptance and surrender," says Levi about his junior project "Where I Belong". That may be what people walk away with, but it doesn't hurt business to be one of the rare unsigned artists to share chart space with the likes of Pink & Kelly Clarkson by debuting at #42 on iTunes Top Pop Album Charts. Something has been bringing fans to the table for 5 strong years now: the feeling Levi sings about their personal life experience with insight and sincerity...the recipe for a fiercely loyal fan base.

Levi Kreis, the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, has confirmed a much-anticipated solo acoustic performance on February 28, 2011 at the iconic Joe's Pub in New York City. The performance will showcase the musician & actor's exceptional songwriting in a stripped down, unplugged atmosphere."This will be my only solo performance in New York this year," Levi says. "I'm so looking forward to an intimate evening of just me, the piano and a few friends."

After originating the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in the Chicago production of Million Dollar Quartet, Levi made the jump to Broadway in 2010. He received resounding critical acclaim for his electrifying stage presence, culminating in his 2010 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

Levi is currently promoting his third album, Where I Belong, along with the uplifting second single "Gonna Be Alright" which reached Top 5 on iheartradio's Adult chart. The album's first single "Nothing At All" debuted on FX's Sons of Anarchy and delivered a #1 video for MTVMusic.com, #1 for 12 weeks on The Logo Channel, and aired on Vh1.com, HBO Zone, and Macy's department stores nationwide.
