FEINSTEIN'S/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "The Songs of Tony Greenlaw" on Wednesday, February 17th, 2016. Tony is a London-based American writer of New Musical Theatre who's new show, SKY NEWS: THE MUSICAL is currently making big waves across the pond in the UK. As well as songs from this exciting new musical, the concert will mark the US and NYC debut of some of his best stand-alone songs, published in the UK by New Musical Songbook and Aria Entertainments.
Guest performers will be fellow MT writers Joe Iconis (The Black Suits, Be More Chill, Smash) and Rob Rokicki (The Lightning Thief), as well as headline performers Ryann Redmond (original Bridget in Bring It On, original Paulette in If/Then), Sarah Beth Pfeiffer (Legally Blonde, original cast of The Lightning Thief), Kat Pace and 54 Below favorites Seth Eliser, Eric Meyers, Lauren Marcus, Amanda Flynn (Wicked, Mamma Mia!) among many others.
'The Songs of Tony Greenlaw' plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) for one night only on Wednesday February 17th at 9.30pm. A proud graduate of the University of Michigan Musical Theatre Program, Tony Greenlaw is part of a new wave of composers and lyricists in London breaking new ground on the musical theatre scene. As a performer, his US regional credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Orin), 1776 (Rutledge) and memorable stint as Baloo in Journey Into Jungle Book (Walt Disney Theatrical, Orlando). As a writer, Tony's unique songs have been seen recently at the Bridewell Theatre, The Pheasantry, Phoenix Artists Club, The Crazy Coqs, and the Mercury Theatre Colchester. His new show, Sky News: The Musical recently won the UK-wide competition BEAM (run by Mercury Musical Developments and the Musical Theatre Network) and will be featured at the Park Theatre, London in March 2016. A former lecturer in Songwriting for Canterbury Christ Church University, Tony also runs one of the top MT training programs in the UK at the Canterbury Institute for Performing Arts. He has a catalogue of stand-alone cabaret songs, many of which have been published by New Musical Songbook and Aria Entertainments (London). Other past European writing credits include the musical revue The Cotton Club (co-librettist) and the music and lyrics for TYA shows such as The Magical Ballet Shoes, The Jolly Postman, and The Prince's Bedtime.
