Hilarious music duo MEL & EL are back with a brand new edition of their long- running monthly comedy show. THE MEL & EL SHOW returns to NYC at Stage 72, 158 W. 72 Street, tonight, April 25th at 7:00PM.
Created and performed by funny femmes Melanie Kinard and Ellie Dunn with composer Patrick Spencer Bodd, THE MEL & EL SHOW is what would happen if Tina Fey and Amy Poehler sang slightly dirty songs while sharing ridiculous stories about their lives and friendship. Hailed as "outrageous" by The New York Times and "hilariously squirm inducing" by the Village Voice, MEL & EL features new material every single month, phenomenal drink deals, and will make you pee in your pants...in a GOOD way.
This month's show will feature Mel & El 'classics' about dating and sex like "Get Out" and "Nice Jewish Boys" as well as brand new songs detailing their parallel plunges into parenthood, like "White Lady with a Black Baby" and "Let's Not Be Poor Anymore". THE MEL & EL SHOW appeals to women, men, straights, gays, parents, and anyone who has parents. In short, it's for everyone.

MEL & EL are real life BFFs who have known each other since they were twelve years old and a riotously funny comedy music duo. In NYC, MEL & EL have performed their full-length show featuring slightly inappropriate stories and songs at venues such as Joe's Pub, Ars Nova, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Duplex, Comix, and 92Y Tribeca. The ladies have seen The World performing on-board Atlantis Cruises - the gayest cruises of them all - and continue to appear at venues like Gotham Comedy Club, Le Poisson Rouge, The Box, The PIT and UCB. Their web series, "The Mel & El Show", won Best Web Series at The Las Vegas Film Festival and their debut comedy music album "Mel & El: She's My Bitch" is currently available on iTunes. Right this very second, they are releasing singles on Bandcamp from their second album, "Mel & El: Codefriendent". MEL & EL's song "Fagnet (F-A-G plus Magnet equals Fagnet)" was awarded the Backstage Bistro Award and won Best Song at The New York Funny Songs Festival. They were given the Collaboration Award by the NY Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts and Media and have been chosen as Go Magazine's Very Best in NYC Comedy and the Village Voice's Best of NYC.
