Kander & Ebb's THE ACT, featuring Anna Chlumsky, Tony winners Randy Graff and Cady Huffman, and more, will play 54 Below in a concert version tonight, April 3 (7 and 9:30 p.m.) and April 4 (8 and 11 p.m.).
54 Below's website describes the show as: "The songs of the show-which originally played Broadway in 1977 with Liza Minnelli as the lead-take place in a nightclub, so it's only fitting this one-night-only event will take place in the swankiest nightclub in town!
"The cast includes Tony Award winner Cady Huffman, Emmy Award nominee Anna Chlumsky, Tony Award winner Randy Graff, Julia Murney (4-3 only), Karen Mason, Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Emma Hunton, Rachelle Rak (Excluding 4-4 at 11pm), Mamie Parris, Carole J. Bufford, with Elizabeth Ann Berg, Jennifer Malenke, and Will Porter.
"Backed by a three-piece swinging band and helmed by director Will Nunziata, an all-star list of Broadway and television's top talent will sing some of the most joyful and gorgeous songs that Kander & Ebb ever wrote, including "The Money Tree," "Arthur in the Afternoon," "City Lights," "Shine It On," "Bobo's," "It's the Strangest Thing," "My Own Space"-and even songs that were cut out of town and will be making their NYC premiere!"
Creative Team: Direction and conception by Will Nunziata; musical supervision by Eugene Gwozdz; musical direction by Daniela Candillari; choreography by Jessica Redish. Produced by WnA Entertainment.
All proceeds from the event will benefit The Actors Fund.
