The NYC Broadway and nightlife communities have always answered the call to support and celebrate the LGBTQ movement. "2019 is a milestone year for New York City - as we honor the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and host the global LGBTQ communities for World Pride. The work of the Fund stands on the shoulders of giants - activists who sacrificed their safety and their lives to stand for love and equality on this planet. And we also support today's youth-led movements to empower tomorrow's decision-makers," stated Fund Cofounder, Sue Sena.

Since its creation 5 years ago, the Swish Ally Fund at The Stonewall Community Foundation has awarded over $69,000 to 33 organizations - doubling its investment every year. The Fund supports nonprofits that protect LGBTQ youth from conversation "therapy" and suicide, and LGBTQ people of color, immigrants, families, and survivors of cancer. The Fund is also a Community Partner of the NYC Pride/WorldPride events in New York City.

These organizations will be honored at the 2019 Songs in the Key of Equality Benefit Concert:

Adoption STAR

Broadway to Bombay: A Love and Courage Project

Founded in 2014, the Swish Ally Fund at The Stonewall Community Foundation supports organizations and programs that engage straight allies in the fight for LGBTQ equality.

The first fund of its kind, it was created by the award-winning gay-straight alliance, Swish. For over 15 years Swish engaged straight allies in joyful partnership with the LGBTQ community as partners in the movement for freedom and equality.

Swish has been recognized five times with nominations and awards by NYC Pride, represented the U.S. delegation at EuroPride 2008 in Stockholm Sweden, was named "Best of LGBT NY 2009" by Time Out NY for its early endorsement of the National Equality March in Washington, DC and most recently joined Google as a Community Partner Award honoree at Marriage Equality USA's national gala.
