Hilarious Pacific Northwest performers Susannah Mars and Bill Wells join forces with Easterner Richard Weidlich in the New York premiere of "Holiday Time," a wild and poignant holiday cabaret for everyone. The performers will appear for one show only on December 17th, 7:00pm at The Metropolitan Room, 34 W 22nd St, New York City. Phone (212) 206-0440 ?for reservations or reserve online at: http://MetropolitanRoom.com. General admission is $20 plus a two drink minimum.

"Holiday Time" is an unabashed celebration of the excessiveness of the season - from garish sweaters to a send-up of holiday food obsessions - with a smart set of songs from composers including Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, Ted Shapiro, Jason Robert Brown, Frederick Silver, Kander and Ebb and David Friedman, among others. Jews and Christians alike will be celebrated and persecuted through stories exploring themes of food, home, Christmas gift giving, and Hanukkah traditions. Mars' holiday show, in several incarnations, has become a legendary perennial on the Portland scene. She last visited cabaret on this coast in 1997.

"From Portland, Oregon, Susannah Mars recently paid a visit. I thought I'd give her a shot. Little did I know the treat I was in for." Roy Sander, Back Stage 1997
"Hilarious!" The Oregonian 2010

Susannah Mars, from a family of actors, is a six-time Portland Drama Critics Award for best actress in a musical, most recently for her portrayal of Diana in Next To Normal at Artists Rep. She recently appeared on NBC's GRIMM as Drew Wu's psychiatrist, Dr. Richet, and as Margaret in Portland Playhouse's The Light In The Piazza, the Portland Drama Critics pick for Best Musical of the 2013-2014 season. In 2000, she received a MAC nomination for her recording, "Take Me To The World."

Richard Weidlich, based in Connecticut, is a versatile performer in both the classical and theater worlds, playing roles in shows as diverse as La Traviata and Funny Girl. He has appeared with symphonies in St. Louis, Seattle, Portland, Tucson and Buffalo and solos with many ensembles around the country. Richard has made multiple appearances with the Oregon and Seattle Symphonies, the Sunriver Music Festival in Bend, in A Leonard Bernstein Evening, and many more.

"What Richard Weidlich brings to the stage is an engaging personality combined with a pure, seemingly effortless quality to his singing that makes him a true pleasure to listen to." Susan Granger, SSG Syndicate

Bill Wells has accompanied and musical directed many shows in the Portland area since 1993, for which he has received several Drammy Awards. Recent shows have included Tonya and Nancy: the Rock Opera (triangle), Mars On Life: The Holiday Edition (Artists Repertory Theater), Landscape of the Body (Profile Theater), and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (triangle). He is frequently seen with Mars.
