As one of the rare officially sanctioned acts of the Gershwin Centennial, her concert, Spider Saloff Sings Gershwin, has been touring the U.S. since 1996 and headlined the St. Petersburg Gershwin Festival in Russia (the birthplace of Gershwin's ancestors), including performances in the Gershwin family home.
The concert act includes famous standards like "S'Wonderful," "I've Got Rhythm", "Our Love Is Here to Stay" and "They Can't Take That Away From Me," but also, some rare Gershwin melodies that members of the Gershwin family gave her access to and permission to perform live and record. In the '90s and early 2000s, Saloff recorded several albums for the Kopaesthetics label; those releases included Sextet, Memory of All That: A Celebration of Gershwin, Like Glass, 1938, Cool Yule, A New Set of Standards and her latest recording Cole Porter Live at Maxim's.
Spider Saloff Sings Feinstein's Gershwin Favorites is an all new version of the show based on Michael Feinstein's Gershwin favorites and rare gems which will be performed in New York City for a special one-night-only engagement.
